Trust & control
AI that earns more autonomy — it never starts with it
There is no global “AI on” switch anywhere in OpsBell. Autonomy is always scoped to a specific channel and category, and only turns on with your explicit, recorded authorization.

How autonomy actually works, channel by channel
Email & appointment requests
Low-risk categories — like routine leads or appointment requests — can be explicitly enabled to send automatically on a connected Gmail account once the AI is confident and the message is clearly actionable. A category can graduate to a higher trust tier as it proves itself, or be rolled back instantly. Billing, support, and anything uncertain or high-risk always wait for a person, on every provider.
Messages are classified and routed. A simple greeting gets an instant, low-risk automatic reply; every substantive conversation — questions, complaints, booking requests — goes to your team's queue for a human reply or takeover.
Social publishing
Content ideas and post drafts are generated automatically every morning, but publishing itself always requires your approval by default. Only specific, low-risk, evergreen content can graduate to bounded autonomous publishing — and only with your explicit authorization.
The controls underneath
Escalation is first-class
Complaints, edge cases, and anything outside a trusted category route to a dedicated human queue with priority and status tracking — never a silent fallback.
Role-based access
Owner, admin, staff, and client-viewer roles each see only the controls and data appropriate to them, enforced at the data layer, not just the interface.
Full audit trail
Every approval, send, status change, and sensitive account action is recorded with who did it and when — visible to owners and admins.
Workflow logs
Every automated run is logged with status and timing, so you can see exactly what ran, when, and whether it succeeded.
Structural tenant isolation
Your business's data is structurally separated from every other business on the platform — not just filtered in the interface, enforced where the data lives.
Portal activation ≠ Autopilot activation
Turning on your team's access to the platform is a separate, explicit step from authorizing any category of AI autonomy — the two are never bundled together.
Credentials for every connected provider — email, calendar, WhatsApp, and social — are exchanged through each provider's own standard authorization flow and stored server-side. They are never exposed to the browser.
